Small, on the footbridge connecting the two sides of Bridgnorth.

The sign on the platform side of the pub.
We got off to a good start. The train left Bridgnorth on time, but then ran into a few problems. For some reason - perhaps due to the sheer number of carriages the engine was trying to pull - the train kept getting stuck at a particular point on the line. It reversed several times, gave a good run at it, only to come to a grinding halt once more.
We eventually made it to Highley station, where we got off to go and look at the Engine House discovery centre.
Looking back towards Bridgnorth as we crossed the tracks to get to the Engine House. There is a footbridge, but as Small is terrified of steps, we followed the pushchairs across the boardwalk.
Highley signal box. The signalman had a good fire going in the signal box if the amount of smoke coming out of the chimney was anything to go by.

Hagley station lies within the Severn Valley Country Park, and there are lots of walks to choose from. Cycle route 45 also follows part of the line, providing a beautiful off-road route along the course of the River Severn.

Looking down the line towards Kidderminster.
Lovely old fashioned signal, currently in the up position. A few minutes later it changed to the down position, indicating the imminent arrival of the train from Kidderminster.

That's all for tonight folks. Back tomorrow with more.
Until next time. x
